Karen is a Trustee of the Hodge Foundation, which awards grants to charities across a range of causes. Her particular focus is engaging with charities which work with people to encourage positive experiences. Catherine has been a Fund Manager with The Waterloo Foundation for the last 10 years. A Psychology graduate, she has an extensive working background in the third sector and not-for-profits, both in a professional and voluntary capacity. Opportunities
Develop the leadership and entrepreneurial skills to manage and inspire the UK’s creative industries. Combine advanced business knowledge with practical production and insight into film, television, theatre and interactive media. She is co-founder and co-curator of Aller Park Studios, a project founded in Devon in 2019 presenting artist film screenings, talks, workshops and performances. Aller Park Studios activity is ambitious, cooperative and informal – international and UK-based artists and performers visit for a contemporary art programme that engages with the experimental, cross-disciplinary traditions of the Dartington Trust.
The course will examine the exciting relationships and intersections between creativity and management, art and business. It will also be fundamental to discuss how societal, political and environmental shifts have important implications for those working in the creative industries, be it marketing, engagement, production or distribution. Our course aims to explore what shape, systems and structures exist, and how this affects various forms of value, the management and ‘flow’ of creative goods, and the creative process. A&B NI’s arts remit covers the performing arts, literature, visual arts and crafts, museums, libraries, heritage and film.

Geoffrey Bennett Senior Fellow of the Institute of Art and Law After studying Classics and Law at Cambridge, Mr Bennett was called to the Bar and has held university posts at Liverpool, Leeds, Louisville, City London and Notre Dame. He has also practised and teaches and writes in the area of cultural heritage law. Alexander Herman is the Director of the Institute of Art and Law and acts as Programme Co-Director for the Art, Business and Law LLM. He has written, taught and presented on an array of topics in relation to art and cultural property.

What you’ll study

The other core module requires you to initiate and carry out a project relevant to your career aims. At this point, you set the agenda, supported by academic and industry professionals to carry out a project of your choice to launch your career, post-graduation. The first core module will introduce some of the definitions, systems and structures of the creative industries, and key debates that affect the sector and those working in it. This module will enable you to examine the complex ecologies and connectedness of the creative and cultural industries.
